Examination Fee Information

Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology, Otolaryngology/Facial Plastic Surgery, and Otolaryngic Allergy Subspecialty

  • $1,500 WRITTEN EXAM (same for re-exam)
    Deadline March 31st / Deadline August 1st for Fall exam (re-exam only)
  • $2,000 ORAL EXAM (same for re-exam)
    Deadline March 1st
  • $2,000 WRITTEN EXAM IN OTOLARYNGIC ALLERGY (same for re-exam)
    Deadline February 15th
  • $2,000 OCC WRITTEN EXAM (formerly referred to as Recertification) (same for re-exam)
    Deadline March 31st for Spring exam
    Deadline August 1st for Fall exam

Late and Cancellation Fees

  1. Late Fee: Any applications postmarked after the established deadline for application and registration for primary and recertification examinations will be assessed a $250.00 late registration fee. No applications will be accepted within the 30 days prior to the established examination date. Exceptions may be made at the discretion of the Executive Committee, upon written request.
  2. Cancellation Fee: There is a nonrefundable fee of $250.00 for cancellations of primary and recertification examinations within the 30 days prior to the established examination date. Exceptions may be made at the discretion of the Executive Committee, upon written request.

The AOBOO-HNS currently does not accept credit card payment for examination/certification fees.

ALL LATE AND CANCELLATION FEES are NON-REFUNDABLE, and no part of the examination fee shall be returned without the candidate’s written request and Board approval.
